Liz Tagami has over 25 years of experience building brands as a senior executive for top US retailers Williams-Sonoma, Cost Plus World Market, HomeChef and Harry & David. A seven year stretch of independent ventures from 2008 to 2014 followed this when she founded and operated Tagami International, a brokerage for premium food and extra virgin olive oil and Tagami Sourcing & Services, a consulting firm assisting start up, high growth, mezzanine level and turn around specialty food companies on three continents.
Except for writing, lecturing and referrals, Liz is now the full time general manager for Lucero Olive Oil in Corning, California.
In April 2012 she led a western delegation from Australia, California, Israel, Italy and Spain to Tokyo and was the Director of International Relations for Olive Japan until January 2015. She has studied olive oil sensory assessment at UC Davis Olive Center since 2009, is a member of the UCCE -- University of California Cooperative Extension Research Panel led by Paul Vossen. Liz serves on juries with trained tasters for extra virgin olive oil competitions in Israel, Japan and California.
Her olive oil connections include charter membership in the Extra Virgin Alliance, past membership in the California Olive Oil Council, contributing writer for the Olive Oil Times, columnist for Gourmet News, speaker at events around the world including multiple appearance at the UC Davis Olive Center, Olive Japan in Tokyo, TerraOlivo in Jerusalem, and the 2014 New York Olive Oil Conference, among other venues.
