TerraOlivo 2010 Announces Results

On August 5, 2010 by Liz Tagami

Inaugural Year - TerraOlivo Competition & Congress

The Olive Oil Times has just published an exclusive  article of my coverage of the Competition and Congress at TerraOlivo 2010.   You can read it here, “Israel Hosts TerraOlivo Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition“.

You will also find a full listing of medal winners from the competition in a document at the end of the same article.  The USA was ably represented by Lucero Olive Oil which brought home a Gold Medal for their Meyer Lemon Cold Pressed EVOO (the same oil which won a Best of Class at LA International this year), a Prestige Gold for their mono-varietal Manzanillo and another Prestige Gold for their mono-varietal Ascolano.

The Best of Show award went to Olearia San Giorgio Fratelli Fazari S.N.S. from Calabria.

In all the caliber of the entrants was quite high with 38 gold medals awarded; 70 oils rated high enough to earn a “Prestige Gold” award, and six garnered a “Gran Prestige Gold”:  one for Greece, two for Italy, and three for Spain.
